Azerbaijan might have had more losses than they present - military expert
Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry has confirmed press reports that they sustained losses on the border with Karabakh on Thursday evening. “In the evening of July 14, Senior Lieutenant Torgul Mamedov was killed in the direction of Aghdam,” the ministry said today. The NKR Ministry of Defense reported earlier that its troops thwarted an attempted advance by an Azerbaijani military unit along the eastern (Akna) direction of the Line of Contact. Karen Vrtanesyan, a military expert and coordinator of the Razm.info website, says yesterday’s incident cannot lead to new military operations by the Azerbaijani side. “I would name it an incident rather than a flare-up of tensions because such incidents occur regularly, but, of course, we can never rule out the possibility of further actions by Azerbaijan,” Mr Vrtanesyan told A1+. At the same time, he does not exclude that the enemy might have had more losses than they present.
