Karabakh conflict cannot be resolved without compromises - Republican MP (video)
Our country always has something to say in the NATO and it does not matter whether it is said in the person of President, Foreign Minister or someone else, Republican lawmaker Levon Martirosyan said on July 11 speaking about Serzh Sargsyan’s latest speech at the NATO Summit. He says it is important that we constantly remind about the agreements over the Karabakh conflict reached in Vienna and St Petersburg earlier this year. When asked about his opinion on the ‘long-speculated compromises’ by the Armenian side, the Republican MP said, “The three presidents of the country and political figures have been speaking about compromises for 25 years. When speaking about compromises one should, first of all, understand what a compromise means.” “By saying a compromise I understand that that both sides should be ready to make a compromise. There can be no two opinions on the issue otherwise the current situation may continue [for an indefinite time],” he said. The lawmaker says compromise will be the last step that will put an end to the negotiations and lead to signing of a peace agreement between the conflicting sides. Anyway, Levon Martirosyan does not think it might happen in the near future.
