Bishop Mikayel Ajapahyan: Can having several rich clerics be considered a sin? (video)
Primate of Shirak Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Mikayel Ajapahyan suggests getting acquainted with the life of other clerics of the Catholic Church; they aren’t inferior to some clerics of our church, “You aren’t aware of the living conditions of Catholic Church, you measure Catholic church only taking into account Pope. You can compare the vehicles of American Catholic cardinals, the vehicles of European Catholic Cardinals and our vehicles.” Even Catholic Church should learn from Pope’s abstinence, and especially Catholic Church. Bishop reminds that for 2000 years Catholic Church has lived in luxury and continues to live, and our church has lived and continues to live in poverty for 2000 years. Can having several rich clerics be considered a sin? Though, a rich cleric doesn’t fit the approach of Jesus Christ towards the rich. Son of God rules out heaven for them. The bishop urges to seek and find a modest cleric, as the one who seeks finds, “It means that you don’t want to find, as it a pleasure for you to find a cleric, whom you can ascribe something. Understand or not?”
