Pope Francis welcomed with Armenian apricot and lavash (video)
Pope Francis was welcomed at Zvartnots airport by Serzh Sargsyan and his spouse Rita Sargsyan, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians. Also, there was a group of children at the airport who had apricots and lavash in their hands.
After the national anthems of the two countries were played, Pope Francis was welcomed by Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Chief of the President’s Staff Vigen Sargsyan, Yerevan Mayor Taron margaryan, Armenia’s Ambassador to to the Vatican Mikael Minasyan and other high-ranking officials.
