Postanjyan sees political motives behind Jirayr Sefilyan's arrest
Why was Jirayr Sefilyan, a Karabakh war veteran and Head of the Sardarapat Movement, arrested today? Representative of the opposition Heritage party, Zaruhi Postanjyan, says political motives behind the arrest. “This is persecution carried out by the last Bolshevik. I think everyone knows whom I mean by saying the last Bolshevik – of course, Serzh Sargsyan,” she said. In reply to the question whether the authorities are attempting to show that no one can stop them and they can do whatever they want, Zaruhi Postanjyan said, “Let people decide it… we do not have authorities in our country.” Jirayr Sefilyan, a well-known opposition activist and a Karabakh war veteran, was arrested on Monday on suspicion of illegal arms trafficking and possession.
