There is already consensus on the Electoral Code, says the NA Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction member Hovhannes Sahakyan. In that case for what has the European Union entered into negotiations with the opposition, the authorities and the civil society, “The Armenian National Congress (HAK) raised the issue, it seems that the format will again be 4+4+4.” Mr Sahakyan considers the information that the European Union puts pressure on the authorities to find a common language with the HHK to be just rumors. The HAK faction secretary Aram Manukyan says that if it was up to the Republican Party, it wouldn’t change any provision of the Electoral Code, it is even possible, “They could care less about anything and do not change anything.” Though, even in case of consensus, says Mr Manukyan, they cannot say that the parliamentary elections of 2017 will be legitimate, “Voting instead of another person, voting for many times, voting with 10 documents will become less. But it doesn’t mean that the authorities will surrender and will allow fair elections.” But it doesn’t mean that after the consensus the opposition will be satisfied and won’t touch upon the political issues of the Code, in particular, rating voting. By the way, Levon Zurabyan, Head of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction, informed “A1+” that 4+4+4 format negotiations between the authorities, the opposition and the civil society may be resumed tomorrow. It is supposed that the negotiations will at least end with the statement on consensus between the political forces.
