Today the united entrance exams of the Armenian language and literature have kicked off in Armenia. In order to get ready for the exams almost all the graduates attended additional courses. They don’t complain of the knowledge given at schools, but they consider it to be insufficient, “Our high school tries to give knowledge, but it simply tries, we must take additional courses,” says Albert Aghayan. “There are 30 pupils in our class and during 45 minutes the teacher cannot manage to give knowledge the tutor gives, that’s why everybody takes additional courses,” says Kristine Nahapetyan. The implementation of the system of high school must have solved the issue of helping the pupils choose their future profession and get knowledge. But the pupils don’t think that it serves a purpose, “It was three years’ waste of time, we could have been in the second year of university,” says applicant Knarik Hakobyan. “We learn the same we learnt in the 7th and 8th grades, in addition to it, it is very bad for boys, as they graduate and leave for army.” The Minister of Science and Education also agrees that the institute of high school isn’t fully established. He thinks we must try to master, but the matter of returning to 10-year education is out of question as the international demand is 12-year education. Watch details in the video!
