“Germany can remove vow of silence” (video)
The recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Germany, according to the assessment the Chairman of the NA Foreign Affairs Standing Committee, HHK lawmaker Artak Zakaryan, doesn’t include any external impulse in it on Germany’s external political system, “It is an issue of Germany’s inner politics. The state like Germany can express full will and remove the vow of silence on the Armenian Genocide carried out by the Ottoman Turkey.” Armenia immediately hailed the step by Bundestag. Armenian Foreign Minister highlighted that the recognition of the resolution is Germany’s valuable contribution not only to the international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide, but also to the universal fight for the prevention of genocides, crimes against humanity, the HHK lawmaker told “A1+”. “Genocide must be observed as a crime. I personally think that the Armenian Genocide shouldn’t become an object of political activities in the international relations. So, by observing it as genocide, it will never be late to condemn that crime.”
