Opinion: We do not have useless territories, we have useless authorities (video)
Members of the “Defense of Liberated Territories” public initiative call on political forces to unite and leave for Artsakh, Davit Sanasaryan, a member of the initiative, told reporters on Friday. While returning from a meeting on Nagorno-Karabakh in Vienna, Austria, Serzh Sargsyan gave a press conference on board a plane saying the lost territories are not important strategically. “We do not have useless territories; we have useless authorities who do not value our lands. Our soldiers sacrificed their lives for those territories and it is immoral to announce today that these territories were not important for us,” Mr Sanasaryan said. Shahen Harutyunyan, another member of the initiative said should people trust Serzh Sargsyan they would not be angered by his words. “People would think that if he [Sagsyan] made such a statement he must known something,” Harutyunyan said. The initiative is going to apply to retired Major-General Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (Komandos) as well as other Karabakh war participants asking them to unite around the move.
