Armenian lawmaker Levon Zurabyan today read out in parliament an article published by A1plus.am according to which several trucks loaded with diesel were left stranded at the Bagratashen border crossing point between for 17 days. The opposition lawmaker, who heads the Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction, said he had repeatedly expressed his concerns about monopolies in the Gasoline and Diesel Fuel market. Did you study the issue? Did you try to verify the information and find out who banned the import of the diesel? Was the issue solved after by the Prime Minister's call? In reply, Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said he received a letter yesterday. A corresponding decision will be made in the coming days, he said. “We shall wait for further clarification regarding this matter to be able to understand the situation in terms of monopolies,” said Zurabyan. Hovik Abrahamyan added that no ban is put on companies that want to import liquid fuel and there is no monopoly. It was simply violation of certain norms.
