All draft laws adopted in the NA
At the beginning of the NA extraordinary sitting convened by the Government all the draft laws discussed yesterday, including drafts on making amendments in laws on “Hrazdan cement”, “Funded pensions”, “Taxes”, “Joint-stock companies”, “Nature Protection and Nature Utilization Payments”, were put to vote and adopted. As the NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov said the voting of all the draft laws discussed today will take place next week- at the beginning of next four-day session. Immediately after the voting the conference hall started emptying. “I urge the lawmakers, who are leaving the hall and hurrying somewhere important, to leave quietly,” said Eduard Sharmazanov. At the moment the NA are discussing the draft on “State probation service”. It is being presented by the Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan. She states that numerous amendments were made in the draft, and today those changes are being discussed at the first reading. She says that the probation service will become a conciliation body, and probation employees will become civil servants. “Heritage” faction lawmaker Tevan Poghosyan asked to what extent that service would ease the condition of the penitentiary institutions. Arpine Hovhannisyan answered that the issue of the penitentiary institutions would be resolved in that way and inmates imprisoned in social terms would be quickly integrated to the society.
