More than 600 000 Armenians, about one third of Armenia's population, participated in the Great Patriotic War. About 300,000 Armenians died in the battlefields. In fact, every sixth Armenian was killed in the war. Six Armenian divisions were formed in that period and tank column "David of Sasun" with the financial support of the Armenian Diaspora. Armenian units at the head of Never Safaryan participated in the battle of Berlin in 1945. Armenians danced Kochari in Berlin.
