Lawmaker suggest cancelling Yerevan-Istanbul flights (video)
On April 27, Armenian lawmaker Levon Dokhoyan spoke about Turkish goods which are bought and sold in the Republic of Armenia. “For many years, we have been importing food, fruit and vegetables, clothing and other products from Turkey. Considering Azerbaijan’s recent offensive and Davutoglu's statement to support Azerbaijan, I think we should prohibit the import of these products and cancel Yerevan-Istanbul flights,” he said. “We have an order by the Prime Minister concerning this issue. Now we are studying the goods which, we think, threaten our economy. Economic relations between Armenia and Turkey are based on bilateral political relations. We need to present a complete package. Armenia is fully entitled to use such tools that will protect our economy. But we must always calculate our steps to avoid creating explosive situations.” Minister of Economy Artsvik Minasyan said in reply.
