Vartan Oskanian: We are going to form a government and rely on our people (video)
Talking to reporters in the National Assembly, Armenia’s former foreign minister Vartan Oskanian said they are going to participate in the 2017 parliamentary elections and form a government. Earlier on Wednesday, it became known that Oskanian is forming a political party – Unity and the initiative group is already making necessary preparations for a founding congress. Asked why his party does not follow the example of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) and unite around the government considering the external challenges, Oskanian said, “I am not going to comment on the actions of other parties." Oskanian admits that elections were rigged in Armenia during his tenure in office as the counyry’s foreign minister. He says elections are considered fraudulent even if 10 votes are rigged. In reply to a journalist’s question why he did not say it earlier, Oskanian advised reading his previous statements and finding the necessary information. When asked where they would find finances for the new party, the former official said they rely on people.
