Aghvan Hovsepyan: Angels are looking down upon us from heaven (video)
On April 24, Armenians around the world today are commemorating the victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide. Since early morning, people have been visiting the hilltop Genocide Memorial at Tsitsernakaberd in Yerevan to pay tribute to the memory of the 1.5 million Armenians killed by Ottoman Turks. Thousands of flowers are already laid at the Eternal Flame. Serzh Sagsyan accompanied by world-famous singer Charles Aznavour, actor George Clooney, Aurora Prize nominees and the Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Karekin II. They laid flowers at the memorial in memory of the 1.5 million Armenians slaughtered by Ottoman Turks between 1915 and 1923. Aghvan Hovsepyan, Chairman of the Special Investigative Committee of Armenia, also visited the Genocide Memorial. He refused to speak to journalists, saying, “Look at the sky and see how many angels are there. They are all looking down upon us from heaven.”
