The President of Austria, Heinz Fischer, is among leading personalities due to address the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on April 20. Specific security measures were not taken today before the Austrian president’s arrival which was the case during the speech of Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu on Tuesday, April 19, when security officers checked the area and even the building with dogs. There are no dogs, security guards or equipment in sight. PACE seems to have returned to its daily routine. As usual, PACE President Pedro Agramunt met Heinz Fischer at the entrance of the building and accompanied him into the hall. People arriving at the building would not even guess that the president of an EU member country had been welcomed there a few seconds ago. Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili is due to arrive in Strasbourg later in the day.
