HHK on consolidation: “Unless it gets to be unendurable” (video)
The National Assembly Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction head Vahram Baghdasaryan doesn’t hesitate that one day the opposition of 4+4+4 format and the authorities will reach the consensus over the Electoral Code, which failed this time, “All the proposals, which were discussed, satisfy both the opposition and the authorities.” Mr Baghdasaryan is happy that during the recent days the opposition displayed political will and stopped criticism against the authorities, “According to our Armenian character, unless it gets to be unendurable, we don’t understand it.” The Republican hopes that hereafter the opposition and the authorities will not lose the consolidation, “Initially there were many contradictions, oppositionists, who wanted to cooperate with the authorities for different reasons. To tell the truth, there were figures, who only wanted to get positions.” But how will the opposition pretend to the power, if due to the Karabakh-Azerbaijani war, the consolidation will not retreat it positions. HHK faction member Levon Martirosyan says, “Irrespective of the consolidation it is both their right and function.” Now it’s time for unity, claims Levon Martirosyan, in the future the opposition will be able to criticize the authorities. But it seems that the end of this consolidation cannot be seen, “It, anyway, is not my problem.” Still the lawmaker is even pleased with that consolidation; the opposition and the authorities are together without any instruction.
