We do not need candies and cookies, we need arms - fighters say from frontline (video)
Instead of sending sweets to our soldiers on the frontline, we had better send them arms, Armenian songwriter Ruben Hakhverdyan said on April 13. During the press conference Mr Hakhverdyan contacted one of his friends, freedom fighter Vardan Gevorgyan, who is in one of the border positions at present. “We do not need candies and cookies, send us night vision devices, send us night vision devices (NVDs) for us to be able to spot and destroy enemy’s troops. Our guys here say that we have killed 2500 enemy soldiers and destroyed 35 of their tanks,” Mr Gevorgyan said on the phone. Ruben Hakhverdyan says the authorities in Armenia are responsible for the the recent escalation of the situation along the Line of Contact and should resign. “We can fight and destroy our external enemy, but how can we fight against the internal enemy? They were intervened in this mess we need to ‘dispossess the kulaks.’ How have they accumulated their millions?” the singer said. In reply to A1+’s question how he would assess the work of our Foreign Office on the international arena, Mr Hakhverdyan said, “Do not mention the name of that person [Edward Nalbandian] in my presence. I do not want that name mentioned here and I do not want to talk about him here.”
