Resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is important for both countries - Azerbaijan and Armenia, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on April 8. “I am sure that it stems from the interests of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Russia is a neighbour and friend of both countries. It [Russia] is also interested in the soonest settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” Aliyev said. He emphasized that Russia had contributed to the de-escalation of tensions over the disputed Karabakh and the signing of the truce.
