Armen Rustamyan: No need to deploy peacekeepers in Karabakh conflict zone
There is no need to deploy peacekeepers in Karabakh, as long as the NKR armed forces can control the situation, the head of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation –Dashnaktsutyun faction in the Armenian parliament said during the parliamentary briefings on April 8. “Some countries can be interested in their deployment, I do not exclude it,” Armen Rustamyan said. “If such proposals were ever made, we never expressed our excitement or objection to their deployment,” Vahram Baghdasaryan, who heads the Republican Party faction, said. In his recent interview with German Deutsche Welle, Serzh Sargsyan was asked why Armenia does not want peacekeeping forces to be deployed in the Karabakh conflict zone. In reply, the Armenian leader said, “We have never objected to the deployment of peacekeeping missions but we want this conflict to be resolved finally and completely.”
