French Ambassador: “Will is needed for solution of urban problems”
Armenian and French specialists of urban development sector will cooperate over the vision of creating sustainable city. For this purpose today a conference has been held with the participation of Minister of Urban Development Narek Sargsyan, French Ambassador to the RA, specialists of the sector. “The seismic norms of the recent buildings are in line with the international standards,” noted the Minister. In reply to the question, which buildings are dangerous, he highlighted that the soviet buildings are seismically dangerous. French Ambassador noted, “Armenian cities cooperate with Paris, Lion and many other French cities. In France the issue of creating sustainable cities is solved. The issues of energy saving and transport are very important for Yerevan and other cities.” In reply to the question how our country must solve those issues, the ambassador said, “Political will and inclusion of financial resources are necessary.”
