Opposition lawmakers offer to apply sanctions against law-breaking lawmakers (video)
Khosrov Harutyunyan, a member of the Republic Party of Armenia (HHK) and Chairman of the Ethics Committee of the Armenian National Assembly, today suggested discussing the draft bill submitted by the opposition lawmakers on the Ethics Committee, during the ongoing four-day session. In particular, the MPs propose amending the Rules of Procedure of the Armenian Parliament. Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov, who is replacing Galust Sahakyan as the NA Chairman, said they ‘respect Khosrov Harutyunyan and have planned to discuss the issue on Friday.’ “The sequence of agenda items is important. If we manage, we shall surely discuss it this week. Everything depends on the volume of our work,” Sharazanov said. The aforesaid amendments imply sanctions on those MPs who have broke the Rules of Procedure.
