The residents of 25 Tumanyan building are trying to save their 80-year-old building in court. “They should ask whether people agree or not,” says Victor Ghazaryan, resident of 25 Tumanyan building. The building must be alienated to “Renshin” LLC. for the construction of high complex on the crossroad of Tumanyan and Yeznik Koghbatsi streets. “If something important was built here for state interests, naturally we could understand it, but if a businessman must build a hotel, must get income, is it an eminent domain, it becomes an interest of a particular LLC.,” adds Vardan Taghyanosyan. On April 5 the Administrative Court will hear the appeal of seven residents of 25 Tumanyan building against the Municipality and “Renshin” LLC. The citizens are trying to prevent the demolition of one of the old buildings of Yerevan as soon as possible before the start of negotiations. By the way, according to the residents, “Renshin” LLC has had the intention of demolishing the building long ago, as it didn’t put into order its own territory in the same building.
