Vardges Gaspari removed from courtroom for six hours (video)
Civil activist Vardges Gaspari again lay down inside the courtroom during a court session on his case after Judge Nelly Baghdasaryan gave him 30 seconds to file a petition. The civil activist had been telling for about 30 minutes about harassment and violence against him in Yerevan’s Nubarashen prison when the judge interrupted him. During today’s court session, the judge and Gaspari’s lawyer Tigran Yegoryan, had frequent augments, with the lawyer complaining of the judge’s actions, and the judge applying disciplinary sanction against him every now and then. “After each court sitting we leave the building with a basket of sanctions,” Tigran Yegoryan said. In the meantime, Gaspari continued to lie on the ground. The judge has announced a 5-minute recess while Gaspari was removed from the courtroom for six hours.
