“Electricity meters must be checked once a month” (video)
The NA lawmaker Edmon Marukyan spoke about the day and night tariffs of electricity from the NA rostrum by noting about the complaint of the citizens. The fact is that many citizens consume more electricity during night hours, as it is little cheaper, “But it turned out that in many places the electricity meters pass to night count not from 23:00, but several hours later. The monitoring in different blocks of Yerevan showed that most of the citizens have this problem connected with electricity meters,” he noted. The lawmaker noted that the ENA must check the correctness of the meters once a year. He presented proposals consisting of three provisions in order to solve the issue, “The electricity meters must be checked not once a year, but once a month, the ENA is obliged to count and provide compensation for the overpaid sums and if the ENA doesn’t do appropriate corrections, the PSRC is obliged to institute administrative proceedings and solve the issue of responsibility of the ENA.”
