Armenian keyboard at schools: lawmaker’s proposal (video)
The NA lawmaker Tevan Poghosyan today spoke about the issue of the preservation of mother language, “Using Armenian letters while writing Armenian on the Internet and out of it yields its positions. While writing on paper, a child, who received education in Armenia, often prefers translit, as it is the form of communication on the social network.” The lawmaker noted that there were such problems also in other countries and their experience can be examined and applied, “As an efficient means, I would like to note the demand of the Armenian keyboards in the standards of the computers obtained by state means,” he said. The lawmaker also proposed, “Maybe there is a necessity to include a mandatory program of teaching pupils at schools typing texts in Armenian.”
