The Russian-Turkish relations drastically aggravated, when Russia entered into the region, thinks political expert Alexander Manasyan. “But if Russia didn’t appear, Syria could have gradually disappeared,” he thinks. The political expert thinks that at present the tense point of the Russian-Turkish relations is that Turkey wants to begin land operations in Syria. According to Alexander Manasyan the USA doesn’t want Turkey to gain in the Syrian conflict, “The USA doesn’t want Turkey to become a superpower in the region. The USA wants the opposite that they get stronger; Russia also conducts the same policy. The fact, that Turkey enters into land operations and even calls on the USA and its partners to assist them, means that the issue has entered into a new phase. I don’t rule out that Russia may change its stance connected with sending in troops.” In reply to the question by “A1+” how all this will affect Armenia, Alexander Manasyan answered by recalling a story, “When inexperienced dogs run forward, they are torn into pieces. It means that if the big ones are here, they mustn’t have outrun. I want to say it is a dangerous moment. Armenia must maintain active neutrality.”
