Artur Mkrtchyan would have turned 57
February 16, Chairman of the National Assembly Ashot Ghoulyan, accompanied by the parliamentarians, visited the Stepanakert memorial complex and laid flowers on the tomb of the first Chairman of the NKR Supreme Council, Artur Mkrtchyan. Artur Mkrtchyan, one of the first Karabakh movement fighters was born in 1959. On January 8, he was elected the First Chairman of the Supreme Council. He died on April 14, 1992. For services shown to the Motherland, in 2001 Artur Mkrtchyan was awarded the Order of St. Grigor Lusavorich. NKR NA
