Can't Republicans and Dashnaks reach agreement on ministerial positions? (video)
“Have you heard anyone announcing that Serzh Sargsyan is going to leave politics?” Republican lawmaker Gagik Melikyan said on Monday. He said this replying to a journalist who said after Serzh Sargsyan's recent speech many have got the impression that he is not going to retire from politics in 2018. “No one has ever said such a thing, do not have such expectations,” Gagik Melikyan said today. Asked why the coalition government has not been formed yet and whether it means there is some disagreement between the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and Armenian Revolutionary Federation –Dashnaktsutyun over top positions, the HHK lawmaker said, the negotiations are underway and the format will be announced soon. “Dashnaktsutyun supported the constitutional amendments and many of their proposals were included in the new Constitution. Dashnaktsutyun is responsible for the implementation of the constitutional reforms,” he said adding that distribution of portfolios was a secondary issue in Serzh Sargsyan's speech.
