Agriculture Minister: We continue to export to Russia the products that we used to export (video)
During the Armenian government’s question-and-answer session in the parliament, lawmaker Tigran Urikhanyan expressed concerns about the cases of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) reported in Armenia. The MP wondered whether the situation is controlled and whether it is a dangerous virus for humans. Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan assured the lawmaker that FMD is only dangerous for animals and people do not get infected. “There is no need to panic. Scientists say that only children under 2 are at risk especially after drinking raw milk but it is not dangerous for humans.” Speaking about the banned put by Russia on imports of a number of agricultural products from Armenia, including meat and dairy products, the Minister said, “We did not export those products to Russia. We continue to export [to Russia] the products that we used to export.”
