Nairit plant employees again gather outsisde government, seek plant’s reoperation (video)
Despite the cold weather, former employees of "Nairit" chemical plant again gathered in front of the government building to show their interest in the reopening of the plant. Last week, during a meeting with the plant employees, Deputy Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources Levon Shahverdyan said three Russian companies are interested in the reopening of the plant and negotiations are already underway. Talking to A1+, Zohran Hovhannisyan, a former employee of Nairit, said they were glad to see that their struggle had produced results. He added that they are determined to go till the end and see the plant reopened. The decision to close down the plant would only speak to the government’s indiscretion and give a hard blow to the country’s economy,” Hovhannisyan said adding that they demand to speed up the process to avoid additional costs in the future.
