Aghvan Vardanyan: We have not discussed distribution of portfolios (video)
Aghvan Vardanyan, Secretary of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation – Dashnaktsutyun, says he does not know that some of his teammates decided to quit the party after Dashnaktsutyun announced its intention to form a coalition government with the Republicans. “I do not exclude that there will be one or two individuals who will have fundamentally different views which is quite natural but it does not mean that they express the opinion of the entire party. I will feel sorry for anyone who will decide to quit the party,” Mr Vardanyan said. The first information about the negotiations on the coalition government is expected later this week. The Dashnak official says they are discussing ways to get the country out of the crisis. “You will soon see that we seek to reveal new directions and awaken hope,” he said. Only after that will Dashnaktsutyun speak about methods of cooperation and distribution of portfolios. Mr Vardanyan reminds that they had submitted a seven-point document to the authorities but those were not a precondition for cooperation. Speaking about the press reports that the two forces – Dashnaks and Republicans - are discussing distribution of cabinet portfolios, Mr Vardanyan said, “We have not discussed the issue to this point.”
