Five members of criminal gang arrested in Yerevan in November 2015 set free
Five members of a criminal gang neutralized in Yerevan in November 2015, have been released today. Samvel Jaghinyan, the lawyer of Srbuhi Ayvazyan, who was among the arrested group members, told A1+ that the investigative body had not requested to extend Ayvazyan’s detention and she was released with a written cognizance not to leave the city. Nelly Minasyan, Lilit Torosyan and brothers Hayk and Hrant Vardanyan were released with Srbuhi Ayvazyan. A nine-member criminal gang was exposed and arrested in Yerevan in November 2015. Three of the gang members were girls. Armenia’s National Security Service said the group was planning to carry out a series of serious crimes in Armenia. The NSS said that Artur Vardanyan, a citizen of Armenia living overseas, traveled to Armenia earlier in 2015 and set up a criminal organization that obtained large amounts of guns and ammunition and hid them at a private house rented in Yerevan’s Nork district.
