Armenian Ombudsman submits his final resignation
Armenia’s Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan has tendered a second resignation today which means the powers of the third Ombudsman of the Republic of Armenia are terminated. Mr Andreasyan has already sent his resignation letter to the National Assembly. Starting January 19, the Ombudsman’s Office will only provide legal advice to Armenian citizens because by law the Office has no right to accept applications or study appeals in the absence of an Ombudsman. Those wishing to protect their rights through the Ombudsman can only apply to the Office after a new Ombudsman is appointed.
