Azat Arshakyan: Shoulder straps of our generals are to be torn off after the death of every soldier (video)
The more weapons Russia sends to reinforce its military base in Armenia, the better for us, says Azat Arshakyan, a former deputy of the Supreme Council. Asked whether Russia is in secret preparations for war with Turkey, Mr Arshakyan said, “I do not believe and I cannot imagine that Russia could start a war against NATO. When saying Turkey, many understand the janissaries (yenicheris) with yatagans but in fact Turkey is the same NATO and Russia will not wage war against NATO.” Azat Arshakyan says one thing is clear for him- two superpowers, Turkey and Russia, today are in competition with each other. “I think that is a serious conflict and I hope that it will end after Moscow decides to cancel the results of the March 16, 1921 Conference and review the results, which will also be beneficial for Armenia.” Gurgen Yeghiazaryan, a former deputy head of the National Security Service, said, “Our neighbour is like a Lebetine viper but the latter always warns before attacking and biting whereas our neighbor never does. Today, Turkey has impudently and overtly intruded into the territory of Iraq and will not leave it despite the appeals of the United States and NATO. But this is only a small part of the big bluff. Let us remember the English fairy tale that these ships will not ascend those mountains. Does it matter whether the ships can ascend those mountains or not if you can directly influence those scoundrels –Young Turks?” Mr Yeghiazaryan says Armenia should be most cautious. “We cannot know how that Lebetine viper, in the person of Davutoglu and Erdogan, will do with Armenia.” The political analyst thinks Turkey has other aspirations. “Turkey is gradually poking its nose into the affairs of Artsakh and Azerbaijan.” Speaking about the causalities on the frontline, Mr Yeghiazaryan said, “The President of the Artsakh Republic can easily enter into negotiations and we should come out of the process. Up to now, we have acted in accordance with international standards. Of course, there are countries which dream in their sleep that this clash happens. In his turn, Azat Arshakyan said, Armenia should give a much stronger response to the enemy. “We need not demonstrate an understanding approach any more. Our authorities are to appreciate the life of each and every serviceman. They treat our soldier in the same way as they condone emigration and unfair distribution of property. We should have as many resignations in the military as many soldiers die on the border. Shoulder straps of our generals are to be torn off after the death of every soldier.”
