Vahan Babayan: Certain zombie groups wanted to discredit BHK (video)
Spokesman for the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), Vahan Babayan today summed up the passing year, focusing on the constitutional amendments and the opposition’s initiative to dispute the results of the constitutional referendum in the Constitutional Court. Talking to reporters on Friday, Mr Babayan said all political forces, that have appealed to the CC and say the referendum was a total falsification, lack elementary calculation abilities. “The referendum could not be totally rigged. Suppose that 1000 votes were falsified at some 70 polling stations but even in that case those votes could not influence the outcome of the referendum,” he said. Mr Babayan says all opposition forces who are now speaking about ‘a total falsification’ did not have enough human resources at all polling stations to prevent violations. “People understand very well that the opposition forces that are holding rallies at [Liberty] square are one holiday or on sick leave. These forces started collection of signatures to apply to the CC realizing that they need to shout and criticize loudly to be able to take seats in the next parliament,” the BHK member said. Mr Babayan stressed that his party cannot turn a blind eye on electoral fraud if there is “clear evidence of fraud.” “The criticism of the behaviour of some BHK representatives at polling stations was aimed at discrediting our party by certain zombie groups. I do not want to give names not to spoil your holiday moods,” he said in conclusion.
