“Our army has been able to carry out educative activities during the whole year” (video)
The NA lawmaker Tevan Poghosyan describes the recent tension at the Line of Contact between Karabakh and Azerbaijan and the adversary’s subversive actions as a tangle, which has started with tension at the beginning of 2015. In the interview with “A1+” he noted that for Azerbaijan a solution to any issue at the frontline is keeping the situation tense, “The Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, current tense situation in the region, drastic aggravation of Azerbaijan’s economic situation, successive failures at the frontline have been appropriate reasons for Azerbaijan to maintain tension at the border.” Mr. Poghosyan says that during the whole year our army has been able to carry out educative activities, “Our army has carried out its military duty in the way that neither Aliyev, nor their MoD is able to boast anywhere that having bought arms worth USD 5 billion, having that budget they are able to solve issues.” Tevan Poghosyan isn’t surprised that the situation at the Line of Contact again escalated before the meeting of Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev. He thinks that before every meeting the Azerbaijani side has the same tactics, “Aliyev must enter the room and say that ‘all the promises and warnings, which I gave at the international platforms and inner speeches, if the RA doesn’t make concessions, we will be able to solve our issues even by military means and so on…’ It proves that it is simply a balloon. During the whole year Aliyev hasn’t achieved success.” The speeches made for the press and diplomacy are one thing, and the reality is another thing. I imagine that Aliyev tries to say something like that in that room and everybody will say ‘we can see that you aren’t able and you won’t do. That’s why when the Armenian side says that there must be no aggression and conflicts must be solved peacefully, Azerbaijan must accept it.”
