Speed cameras were removed from Los Angeles shortly after their installation, says Nikol Pashinyan (video)
Speed cameras should be removed from all streets in Armenia, opposition lawmaker Nikol Pashinyan said today. The MP said his Civil Contract political party will raise the issue repeatedly in the National Assembly and will also include it in their pre-election campaign. “Now you cannot imagine it, but it can happen. Speed cameras were removed from the streets of Los Angeles shortly after their installation. People realized that surveillance cameras gave them nothing but harm,” Pashinyan said. The lawmaker added that the number of traffic accidents in Armenia has increased by 36 percent in the last three years and the number of traffic fatalities - by 9,9 percent. “People have to pay millions of drams they could have spent on their children’s clothes and shoes to an organization that is reportedly owned by Serzh Sargsyan’s family, to be more precise, his brother – Alexander Sargsyan It does not matter whether the money goes to Serzh Sargsyan, his son-in-law Mikael Minasyan or his brother Alexander Sargsyan. People want to know why they pay the money,” Nikol Pashinyan said.
