"Tankman" Artak Gevorgyan set free
Artak Gevorgyan, a member of the Counterattack Art Group, has been set free after spending several hours in detention. Artak told his friends that he had been taken to the National Security Service. On the way, he was subjected to violence in a police car and heard blasphemous words in his address. We have been unable to contact the NSS press service throughout the day to hear their explanation on the detention. At 4pm on Friday, Artak Gevorgyan and Areg Arakelyan, both activists of the Counterattack Art Group, were put into a police car and driven away in an unknown direction. Another member of the group, Arman Gharibyan, was detained several minutes later. Driving his cardboard vehicle -“a green tank” - Artak had reached the Central Electoral Commission, Constitutional Court and National Security Service. Getting to the NSS he smashed his ‘tank’ crashing the gates of the NSS building.
