“We are getting civilized slowly, December 6 referendum wasn’t better than the previous ones,” says the NA “Heritage” parliamentary faction lawmaker Tevan Poghosyan while speaking about the electoral fraud and violence registered during the referendum. The lawmaker hopes that the law enforcement authorities won’t remain indifferent to the violations and violence used against observers and members of the committees and “the violators will be held liable.” Mr. Poghosyan also thanks the people who showed high civic stance, “Journalists, who worked under hard conditions and did their best to ensure transparency. I am also happy that the army of observers is formed and it does its best to reach justice.” In reply to the question of “A1+”, how he can comment on the statement made by Serzh Sargsyan on December 7 that “we have no right to have “fronts” within our country” as well as “for a nation which had the history like ours, it would be unaffordable luxury” and who is to blame for that, Tevan Poghosyan answers, “I would like our country to be united, but everybody must ask himself this question, if that front has already been formed, and what have we done?” The lawmaker explains the formation of different fronts in this way, “Sometimes there is such a situation when another side not finding mechanisms to solve the problems legally, sets his mind on creation of a front. We speak of good things, welfare, but only speaking isn’t enough. For example, what does the government do in order to refrain from such situations?” On December 7 “Heritage” party leader Raffi Hovannisian announced that the Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan could be the next president, but then demanded his resignation. Mr. Poghosyan doesn’t want to comment on the statement by Mr. Hovannisian, but he wants to add, “Undoubtedly, Seyran Ohanyan is a national hero, enjoys confidence of the army, but in the current system individuals cannot make big changes.” He thinks that the future system of government allows those changes, but great willpower is needed for that.
