“Who was the head of the Artsakh defense counsel in 1992 when the Armenian forces surrendered Shahumyan and Martakert? It was Serzh Sargsyan. Who was Armenia’s Defence Minister in December 1993 when the Azerbaijani army penetrated into Armenia and appeared a few kilometers away from Vardenis? It was again Serzh Sargsyan. Andrias Ghukasyan, a senior member of the New Armenia Public Salvation Front addressed the ralliers at Liberty Square with these words. He recalled numerous incidents and occurrences connected with Serzh Sargsyan. “If he is really concerned about the safety of our country, why didn’t he say in 2005? Why didn’t Sargsyan say earlier that the acting Constitution which came into effect during his tenure in office [in 2008] has dangerous provisions which can undermine the security of our country?” Ghukasyan said.
