Armenia cannot replace Turkey in Russian market (video)
Our country doesn’t have enough production to replace Turkey in the Russian market. We cannot fully become an alternative by replacing Turkey, but our country has an opportunity to substantially increase export volumes. Annually Armenia exports goods worth USD 120 million to Russia not taking into account alcoholic beverages. This number may double in 2016. According to Hamlet Tadevosyan, Director of “Ararat Food” company of “Spayka” LLC “only on the part of “Spayka” the export volume will be increased by two-three times.” Russia’s sanctions against Turkey will enter into force starting from January 1. The Russian government is going to ban the importation of frozen meat products, poultry meat, milk and dairy products, fish, seafood, fruits and nuts, vegetables and greens. Though prices presented by Armenia are higher than those of Turkey, it won’t be an obstacle.
