Vahagn Khachatryan: Let us say "No" on Dec. 6 in order not to have abandoned homeland (video)
Armenia's state debt is expected to reach 5.6 billion dollars in 2016, economist Vahagn Khachatryan said addressing the ralliers in Yerevan’s Liberty Square. “In 2008, the national debt was 1.5 billion dollars. Since the acting regime came to power the debt has increased by 3.8, with no growth recorded in the economy. This means we are constantly taking debts only to waste it,” he said. “During these years, the rich got richer at the expense of public debt and the poor got poorer. This is the policy pursued by the Armenian authorities for many years,” he continued. The economist said in the last 5 years about 40-45 000 Armenians have left the country and according to the official statistics, 300,000 people have emigrated from the country in the past 8 years.
