Thanks to volunteering young people can find good job (video)
Work without financial gain. The young people invest their knowledge and time for the sake of social welfare. Everything on voluntary basis, and as a result by developing and gaining experience the young people find a job with ease. “An employee satisfies about five out of six requirements presented by the employer by volunteering,” says Erik Ghazaryan, Chairman of “Armenian Progressive Youth” NGO. He says volunteers have a privilege compared with other young people, as they get a chance to participate in local and international events. A person engaged in European voluntary service assumes some obligations, “A volunteer should be active, should attend training courses, as well as should follow the established rules,” says Erik Ghazaryan. Tereza Tokmajyan has recently come back from Portugal, where she worked with children. She wrote down all her memories. Leaving her friends and the Portuguese family wasn’t easy and speaking about them isn’t easy too. New friends, relations, exchange of experience: all these thanks to volunteering. “The atmosphere, where you live and grow up, it is always good, but the atmosphere, where you can be integrated, can create something new for yourself, becomes more familiar to you, as you are the creator of it,” says Tereza. Voluntary experience has also given opportunity to find a job with ease, “When the employers see that you, as a volunteer, have a chance to do so much, to give so much knowledge, they start thinking what you will do if they pay you.” Tereza advises the young people to be active, instead of sitting at home and waiting for job invitation to become a volunteer. Maybe on next day you will receive a business offer by one of those organizations.
