“No” is in very difficult situation: BHK representative (video)
“It is still a question what the people will say in the constitutional referendum,” Vahan Babayan, press secretary of “Prosperous Armenia” party (the BHK), announces for all the skeptics. Their party is actively taking part in the campaign of “Yes” and urges to vote in favor of the new Constitution. “There is a normal situation in the field. People thought that society would oppose, but we don’t see serious obstacles.” What is the opinion of the BHK representative on the supporters of “No”? “The supporters of ‘No’ have mistaken the constitutional amendments for the campaign of presidential elections. ‘No’ is in very difficult situation.” The BHK supports the new Constitution, as the political monopoly will disappear after it, “Besides, the judicial system will be independent, anti-monopoly laws will be adopted.” To the remark that the opposition party is in favor of the draft suggested by the ruling party, the BHK press secretary replied, “The government and the opposition are not eternal ideas.” Asked whether in case of adoption of new Constitution the BHK will struggle for power, Mr. Babayan noted, “Everybody strives to power. Show me a power, which doesn’t struggle for it!”
