Armen Ashotyan: HAK uses all its resources to criticize me (video)
Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan has responded to opposition lawmaker Levon Zurabyan’s accusations who said teachers in communities are involved in the “Yes” campaign for the constitutional referendum. Talking to reporters in the National Assembly, Mr Ashotyan said, “Even with the strong desire the Ministry does not have the opportunity to apply its administrative authority and issue instructions for all schools of the country. Let us not speak about his [Zurabyan’s] ignorance about the education sector. He does not even have basic information about human rights and of fundamental freedoms. There is a presumption of innocence. In order to accuse me he must provide evidence but he does not possess it.” Anyway, Mr Ashotyan said he was pleased to know that the HAK appreciates ‘his modest political activity.’ “But I call on them not to focus on me because the Republican Paty has five vice-chairmen. If the HAK uses all its resources to criticize me, who is to deal with the other four vice-chairmen? They have made wrong piltical calculations but I understand where the problem lies.HAK wants to become the Gyulchataj of 'No'," the minister added.
