Karabakh war veteran ends hunger strike in prison
Karabakh war veteran Hovsep Terteryan has ended a 13-day hunger strike in prison, the inmate’s relatives informed A1+. He started the strike after the administration of Yerevan’s Vardashen prison rejected [for a fourth time] his request for conditional early release. His relatives say when rejecting his parole request, the administration said though they had observed positive change in the behavior of the convict, they insisted on continuing the psychological counseling. However, no psychologist has attended Terteryan in the past four years In 2009, Hovsep Terteryan, a holder of the First degree Battle Cross order, was sentenced to 9 years in prison. He will be released in 11 months.
