Dashnak MP: Authorities joined Dashnaktsutyun, not vice versa (video)
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun has formed a constitutional referendum campaign office which will be managed by ARF-Dashnaktsutyun lawmaker Aghvan Vardanyan. The party will have around 100 headquarters across Armenia. We are planning to start regional meetings next weekend,” Mr Vardanyan said. Although Dashnaktsutyun supports the draft constitution proposed by the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), it is going to hold a separate campaign in the constitutional referendum. “ARF-Dashnaktsutyun has always been an independent force. We shall never serve any other force,” he said. Mr Vardanyan does not accept the accusations that Dashnaktsutyun has joined the authorities in view of the constitutional amendments. “We have been in favour of the parliamentary system since the 90s. we have not joined the authorities in this issue,” he stressed. Asked whether it was the government who actually joined them the lawmaker said ‘yes’.
