A photo exhibition of Armenian peacekeepers involved in NATO-led operations in Kosovo and Afghanistan has opened at Yerevan State University within the framework of the NATO Week events.
Erikas Petrikas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic, hails the level of military preparedness of Armenian soldiers. “Armenian peacekeepers in Kosovo and Afghanistan have always been distinguished by the high level of readiness and skills to perform their tasks in the best way,” he said.
The diplomat says they are interested in maintaining a high level of cooperation with Armenia in all spheres, including in peacekeeping missions.
“Every year, we try to present Armenian people relations between Armenia and NATO, and the activities of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). NATO Week events help us show to our people the activities of Armenian peacekeepers in Kosovo and Afghanistan and the most important components of Armenia-NATO partnership,” said Samvel Mkrtchyan, Head of the Arms Control and International Security Department of Armenian Foreign Ministry.
The exhibition is organized by Information Center on NATO in Armenia with the sponsorship of NATO Public Diplomacy Division and the assistance of Ministry of Defense of Armenia.
