Today at the NA during the discussion of the package on making amendments in the “Electoral Code” and in the law on “Identification cards” the BHK MP Tigran Urikhanyan expressed his annoyance that his concerned approach and statements on the ID cards were perceived as a service done for the authorities, “There is nothing like that and cannot be, it may simply be jealousy towards my activeness. Be careful not to crack of jealousy.” He highlighted, that the RA citizens are not keen on saying ‘yes’ to the constitutional amendments and there is clear suspicion on the ID cards. Independent MP Edmon Marukyan announced that he is against inking the fingers, “Do you want the people to feel disgust and not to go to those elections? Have you asked the people whether they want to ink their fingers? I personally do not want it. If the authorities want, they will falsify the elections whether you ink your fingers or feet. We simply should speak of the political will. The opposition has 10 representatives at each polling station and the authorities have 4, if ten representatives cannot fight against four, we have problems connected with the system.” After the speech Edmon Marukyan started arguing with the HAK MP Nikol Pashinyan, who supported the idea of inking the fingers.
